A law firm seeks a Patent Attorney in Saratoga Springs, New York. Duties

  • Draft and prosecute U.S. and international patent applications in various engineering disciplines.
  • Prepare responses to USPTO Office Actions and manage examiner interviews.
  • Conduct patentability, freedom-to-operate, and validity analysis.
  • Stay current on patent law developments and emerging technologies.
  • Communicate effectively with inventors, in-house counsel, and foreign associates.
  • Participate in client meetings and contribute to business development efforts.

Requirements

  • Undergraduate degree (or higher) in electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, physics, computer engineering, or a related field.
  • Registration to practice before the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO).
  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school.
  • Strong academic credentials.
  • Excellent technical, written, and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with other practice areas.

Education

  • Undergraduate degree in a relevant engineering discipline.
  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school.

Certifications

  • Registration with the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO).
