Job Overview

A law firm seeks a Counsel with extensive experience in complex litigation and dispute resolution to join their team in Austin, TX. This role involves managing a large docket of litigation and pre-litigation matters for a major technology client, focusing on operational management and strategic innovation.

Duties

  • Drive and coordinate matter management and budgeting for a large portfolio of litigation matters.
  • Develop docket management strategy as the mix of matters changes.
  • Innovate workflows and coordination among teams, advancing creative uses of AI.
  • Supervise and improve operations management, including docketing and staffing.
  • Manage and improve data collection across the docket, delivering insights to teams.
  • Interact and communicate directly with the client and relationship partners.
  • Supervise a team of attorneys and non-attorneys, coordinating efforts on various matters.

Requirements

  • Extensive experience litigating complex civil cases and managing teams.
  • Proficiency in litigation management platforms, Excel, and AI tools.
  • Experience with legal technology, including generative AI.
  • Ability to prioritize multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong leadership skills, client-service mindset, and ability to work independently.

Education

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree required.

Certifications

  • Member of the State Bar of California, admitted in good standing.
