Job Overview

A law firm seeks a Pre-Litigation Attorney specializing in personal injury to join their team in Chattanooga, Tennessee. The role involves managing a high-volume caseload from intake to settlement, requiring excellent negotiation skills and a client-focused approach. The attorney will work closely with clients, medical providers, and insurance adjusters to ensure fair compensation and effective case management.

Duties

  • Manage all aspects of personal injury claims during the pre-litigation phase.
  • Communicate regularly with clients to provide case updates and guidance.
  • Review police reports, medical records, and other documentation to evaluate case value.
  • Draft demand letters and other legal correspondence.
  • Negotiate settlements with insurance companies to ensure fair compensation.
  • Coordinate with medical providers regarding client treatment and billing.
  • Maintain detailed case notes and documentation in the case management system.
  • Collaborate with paralegals and support staff to ensure cases move efficiently.
  • Prepare cases for litigation if settlement is not achieved.
  • Ensure compliance with all ethical and legal standards.

Requirements

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school.
  • Licensed to practice law in Tennessee and in good standing with the Tennessee Bar.
  • 1-3+ years of experience in personal injury law preferred (pre-litigation focus preferred).
  • Strong negotiation, communication, organization, and time management skills.
  • Compassionate and client-focused attitude.
  • Ability to manage a high-volume caseload independently.
  • Proficiency with case management software (e.g., Filevine, Needles, Litify, etc.) is a plus.

Education

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school.

Certifications

  • Licensed to practice law in Tennessee.

Skills

  • Strong negotiation and communication skills.
  • Excellent organization and time management abilities.
  • Proficiency with case management software is a plus.
