A law firm in Orlando, FL, seeks a highly skilled and experienced Nursing Home/Assisted Living Facility Attorney to join their team. The ideal candidate will possess excellent academic credentials and deeply understand legal issues related to nursing homes and assisted living facilities. This role involves representing clients, advising on regulatory compliance, and handling litigation related to elder care facilities.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Provide legal counsel to nursing homes and assisted living facilities on regulatory compliance, including federal and state laws.
  • Represent clients in litigation involving elder care issues, including wrongful death, neglect, and abuse claims.
  • Draft, review, and negotiate contracts related to facility operations, including service agreements and employment contracts.
  • Conduct legal research and prepare legal briefs, opinions, and documentation.
  • Advise clients on risk management strategies and best practices to ensure health and safety regulations compliance.
  • Collaborate with regulatory agencies and handle investigations related to facility operations.
  • Assist with developing and implementing facility policies and procedures to ensure legal compliance.
  • Stay updated on changes in laws and regulations affecting the eldercare industry.
  • Manage case files, maintain accurate records, and ensure timely case resolution.
  • Represent clients in court hearings, mediations, and settlement negotiations.

Requirements

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Licensed to practice law in Florida.
  • Experience in elder law, particularly in a legal matter of nursing homes or assisted living facilities.
  • Strong knowledge of federal and state regulations governing elder care facilities.
  • Proven track record in handling litigation and legal issues related to elder care.

Education

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
