A law firm seeks a Data Privacy Senior Attorney to join its Greenville, NC office. The ideal candidate will have over five years of experience in privacy and cybersecurity, contributing to the growth of the firm's Privacy and Cybersecurity Practice Group.

Duties

  • Review, update, or draft security policies.
  • Provide data breach prevention and risk-mitigation counseling.
  • Conduct data breach investigation and response counseling.
  • Advise on regulatory frameworks for privacy laws.
  • Implement privacy and security compliance programs.
  • Negotiate IT, licensing, and outsourcing contracts.
  • Advise clients on privacy and data security matters.
  • Develop data governance strategies.
  • Address privacy and cybersecurity in M&A transactions.
  • Draft company terms of service and privacy policies.

Requirements

  • J.D. from an ABA-accredited law school.
  • At least five years of experience in privacy and cybersecurity.
  • Privacy professional certification preferred.
  • Strong adaptability and ability to work under pressure.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Proficient in drafting and negotiation.
  • Ability to manage confidential information with discretion.

Education

  • J.D. from an ABA-accredited law school.
