Job Overview

A law firm seeks an Immigration Attorney in Los Angeles, CA. The ideal candidate will have a strong interest in immigration law and be fluent in Spanish. This full-time position requires a minimum of one year of experience in immigration law.

Duties

  • Represent clients in Immigration Courts for asylum, cancellation of removal, and adjustment of status.
  • Advocate for clients before USCIS and ICE.
  • Represent minors in probate or family court for SIJS predicate orders.
  • Travel to detention centers nationwide as needed.
  • Develop litigation skills and manage cases effectively.
  • Conduct legal research and writing.
  • Engage in client intake and consultations.
  • Participate in community outreach and workshops.
  • Perform additional tasks as assigned by management.

Requirements

  • Fluency in Spanish (speaking, reading, writing).
  • One year of experience in immigration law.
  • Interest in developing litigation skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and take initiative.

Education

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree.

Certifications

  • Bar admission in any U.S. state.

Skills

  • Strong case management abilities.
  • Excellent legal research and writing skills.
  • Ability to pursue new legal theories.
