Government Liability/Civil Rights Defense Attorney

A law firm in Cleveland is seeking a Government Liability/Civil Rights Defense Attorney with 1-3 years of civil litigation practice. The ideal candidate should possess experience with government immunity defenses, excellent research and writing abilities, proficiency in dispositive motion practice, and strong skills in preparing and responding to written discovery. The position also requires the ability to take and defend depositions, communicate with expert witnesses, and develop deep analytical skills for evaluating and resolving complex legal issues. Attention to detail and strong organizational skills are essential for success in this role.

Duties:

• Handle government liability and civil rights defense cases
• Utilize experience with government immunity defenses
• Conduct legal research and analysis
• Draft pleadings, motions, and other legal documents
• Manage dispositive motion practice with exceptional analytical skills
• Prepare and respond to written discovery
• Take and defend depositions
• Communicate effectively with expert witnesses
• Develop deep analytical skills to evaluate and resolve complex legal issues
• Ensure attention to detail and maintain strong organizational skills

Requirements:

• 1-3 years of civil litigation practice
• Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school
• Active license to practice law in the relevant jurisdiction
• Experience with government immunity defenses (preferred)
• Excellent research, writing, and oral advocacy abilities
• Proficiency in dispositive motion practice
• Strong skills in preparing and responding to written discovery
