Job Overview

A law firm seeks an experienced Attorney to join their Trusts and Estates practice in Garden City, NY. The position focuses on estate administration, including Surrogate's Court proceedings and estate tax matters. The ideal candidate will have over five years of experience managing estate and trust administration, supporting fiduciaries and beneficiaries throughout the process. Estate planning experience is preferred but not required.

Duties

  • Represent beneficiaries, executors, and trustees in estate and trust administration.

  • Manage Surrogate's Court calendar and attend proceedings as necessary.

Requirements

  • Juris Doctor from an accredited law school.
  • License to practice law in good standing in New York.
  • 5+ years of experience in trusts and estates, focusing on estate administration.
  • Experience with estate tax returns and federal/state tax compliance.
  • Estate planning experience preferred.
  • Strong analytical and organizational skills.
  • Experience supervising junior attorneys or paralegals is a plus.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
