Job Overview

A law firm seeks a mid-level associate attorney in Los Angeles, California. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of three years of litigation experience and a passion for advocating on behalf of consumers. This role offers immediate exposure to various phases of litigation, including discovery, motion practice, and trial preparation.

Duties

  • Engage in direct interaction and training with partners and senior attorneys.
  • Collaborate with a team of experienced lawyers.
  • Draft and review written discovery and document productions.
  • Prepare and argue motions related to discovery disputes and other litigation matters.
  • Prepare clients for depositions and defend consumer client depositions.
  • Conduct depositions of witnesses and corporate representatives.
  • Prepare expert witnesses and attend expert depositions.
  • Attend vehicle inspections with expert witnesses.

Requirements

  • J.D. from an ABA-accredited law school.
  • California Bar license in good standing.
  • Minimum of 3 years of litigation experience as a California licensed attorney.
  • Proficiency in MS Office, Westlaw, and Outlook.
  • Strong decision-making and problem-solving abilities.
  • Excellent organizational skills and ability to meet deadlines.
  • Willingness to travel within California for court appearances and depositions.
  • Ability to lift and/or move up to 20 pounds.

Education

  • J.D. from an ABA-accredited law school.

Certifications

  • California Bar license in good standing.

Skills

  • Proficient in MS Office, Westlaw, and Outlook.
  • Strong decision-making and problem-solving abilities.
  • Excellent organizational skills.
  • Ability to work in a team environment.
  • Bilingual Spanish preferred, but not required.
