Job Overview

A law firm seeks a dynamic and self-starting individual to serve as a Family Law Attorney in Fort Worth, TX. The ideal candidate will demonstrate initiative and a commitment to excellence in managing a family law caseload and supervising a team of paralegals.

Duties

  • Manage a family law caseload and supervise paralegals.
  • Monitor active cases for deadlines and necessary actions.
  • Review and maintain proper recordkeeping for cases.
  • Edit and review original petitions, answers, and counterpetitions.
  • Draft and complete pre-trial discovery.
  • Represent clients as the first chair in bench and jury trials.
  • Attend mediations, depositions, and other case-related proceedings.
  • File post-judgment motions, bills of review, and appeals.
  • Collaborate with other attorneys in the Family Department.
  • Participate in departmental meetings.
  • Maintain positive relationships with clients, attorneys, and court personnel.
  • Conduct employee performance evaluations and manage disciplinary issues.

Requirements

  • Licensed to practice law in Texas.
  • 2-3 years of relevant legal experience in family law.
  • Demonstrated trial and advocacy skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strategic thinking and planning abilities.
  • Flexible work schedule availability.
  • Strong work ethic and accountability.
  • Occasional travel may be required.
  • Excellent attendance record.

Education

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree.

Certifications

  • Licensed to practice law in Texas.
