Litigation Attorney

Job Overview

A law firm seeks a Litigation Attorney in Middletown, CT, to join its expanding commercial and general litigation practice. This role offers the opportunity to manage your own files and collaborate with experienced litigators on a variety of challenging and high-impact cases.

Duties

• Conduct thorough research on complex legal issues.
• Draft pleadings and dispositive motions for state and federal court.
• Take and defend depositions.
• Communicate complex legal issues clearly to clients and colleagues.
• Argue motions in state and federal court and arbitration proceedings.
• Serve as first or second chair on complex litigation matters.
• Develop and maintain client relationships.
• Collaborate with partners on development and marketing plans.

Requirements

• Admission to the Connecticut Bar and U.S. District Court for the District of Connecticut.
• Minimum 2 years of experience in commercial and general litigation.
• Excellent legal research skills.
• Clear and concise writing ability.
• Experience taking depositions.
• Effective communication of complex legal issues.
• Confidence and professionalism in client interactions.
• Ability to collaborate with junior attorneys and support staff.
