Associate Attorney

Job Overview

A law firm seeks Associate Attorneys in Hackensack, NJ, with hybrid options available. The firm is looking for individuals to join their General Liability and New York Labor Law teams, managing litigation caseloads involving personal injury, premises, auto liability, and construction-related claims. Candidates will handle all phases of defense work from intake and discovery through motion practice and trial preparation.

Duties

• Assist senior attorneys in defending insured clients in general liability and labor law litigation.
• Conduct legal research and draft motions, briefs, affidavits, pleadings, discovery responses, and settlement correspondence.
• Appear in court, attend depositions, and participate in mediations and hearings.
• Communicate regularly with clients, experts, and internal staff to manage case strategy and deadlines.
• Coordinate with support staff to maintain organized and up-to-date case files.

Requirements

• J.D. from an accredited law school.
• Admission to practice in New York and/or New Jersey.
• Strong research, writing, and communication skills.
• Prior litigation experience is preferred but not required for entry-level positions.
