A law firm seeks an Associate Attorney in San Diego, CA, to join their litigation team. This full-time position offers opportunities for mentorship and hands-on experience in civil litigation.

Duties

  • Support senior attorneys in civil litigation and related matters.
  • Draft pleadings, motions, legal correspondence, and discovery documents.
  • Appear in court on routine matters and assist with trial preparation and trials.
  • Conduct legal research and stay current with applicable statutes and case law.
  • Review case files and assist in developing case strategy.
  • Maintain case management systems and ensure accuracy of legal documentation.
  • Communicate with clients, courts, and opposing counsel under supervision.
  • Collaborate with legal staff to meet deadlines and court requirements.

Requirements

  • Active California Bar license.
  • 0 to 10 years of civil litigation experience.
  • Strong research, writing, and analytical skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Eagerness to learn, grow, and work collaboratively.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office; comfort with legal tech systems.
  • Occasional travel for court appearances as needed.
  • Ability to pass a background and drug test.

Education

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree.

Certifications

  • Active California Bar license.
