Job Overview

A law firm seeks an experienced Energy Regulatory Associate for its Washington, D.C. office. The ideal candidate will have 2-4 years of experience in FERC regulatory matters, particularly in the power sector. This role offers significant client exposure and engagement with critical issues in the power and natural gas industries.

Duties

  • Participate in administrative proceedings and litigation, including rate proceedings and tariff amendments.
  • Manage generator, load, and transmission interconnection processes.
  • Contribute to transmission rate design and electric market design.
  • Engage with Regional Transmission Organizations (RTO) tariffs.
  • Ensure FERC compliance and participate in investigations and enforcement.
  • Provide regulatory support for energy asset transactions.

Requirements

  • 2-4 years of FERC regulatory experience, particularly in power matters.
  • Strong academic credentials.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.
  • Proven project management ability.
  • Commitment to excellence and teamwork.

Education

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications

  • Bar admission in at least one U.S. jurisdiction.
