Job Title: Associate Attorney

Job Overview:
A prominent law firm located in Charlotte, NC, is looking for an Associate Attorney to join their team in the Medicare Secondary Payer (MSP) practice area. The ideal candidate will assume leadership of the firm's Medicare lien resolution practice, providing a significant level of client interaction and case responsibility. This role requires an individual passionate about helping clients navigate the complexities of MSP compliance, with the opportunity for hands-on experience from the very beginning.

Duties:

  • Engage in attorney-to-attorney consultations regarding Medicare conditional payment issues.
  • Analyze case-specific details to develop strategies for maximizing lien reductions.
  • Negotiate with federal Medicare contractors and Medicare plans to secure reductions.
  • Evaluate the potential for post-demand appeals and pursue relief when applicable.
  • Draft and file appeals seeking judicial determinations on Medicare’s recovery rights.
  • Represent clients in court with a focus on advocating for their best interests.
  • Monitor national developments related to Medicare Secondary Payer compliance.
  • Create written content, including articles and blog posts, discussing MSP compliance.

Requirements:

  • Juris Doctorate (J.D.) from an accredited law school.
  • Admission to the state bar and in good standing.
  • At least 2 years of experience in lien resolution and Medicare Secondary Payer services.
  • Excellent communication, speaking, and writing abilities.
  • Strong work ethic and self-motivation.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal oversight.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Admission to the state bar and in good standing.

Skills:

  • Expertise in Medicare Secondary Payer compliance.
  • Negotiation and advocacy skills.
  • Strong legal research and writing abilities.
  • Ability to manage multiple cases and deadlines simultaneously.
  • Proficient in creating legal content for educational purposes.
