Job Overview

A law firm seeks a licensed attorney to join its team in Gulfport, Mississippi. This full-time position is ideal for a legal professional dedicated to serving immigrant communities. While prior immigration experience is preferred, it is not required. The role requires strong advocacy skills, a willingness to learn, and a passion for justice.

Duties

  • Conduct client consultations.
  • Represent clients in immigration and state court proceedings.
  • Draft and file motions, briefs, and legal documents.
  • Manage a diverse caseload, including removal defense and family-based immigration.
  • Handle humanitarian relief cases such as asylum, VAWA, U-Visa, T-Visa, TPS, and more.
  • Work on Special Immigrant Juvenile cases and related custody matters in state court.

Requirements

  • Licensed attorney with a valid Bar license.
  • Spanish-speaking preferred but not required.
  • Experience in immigration law or courtroom advocacy preferred.
  • Familiarity with humanitarian immigration forms and procedures.

Education

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree.

Certifications

  • Bar license in good standing.
