Job Overview:
A nationally recognized law firm is seeking an experienced Immigration Partner with a strong background in business immigration law. This leadership position is suited for a senior attorney with a portable book of corporate immigration business and a proven ability to deliver strategic legal solutions across a wide range of employment-based immigration matters. The role also includes practice development, client relationship management, and cross-functional collaboration.

Location:

  • Albany, NY

Duties:

  • Provide high-level legal counsel on complex employment-based immigration matters

  • Advise corporate clients on all stages of nonimmigrant and immigrant visa processes, including:

    • E-1/E-2

    • H-1B

    • L-1

    • O-1

    • EB-1, EB-2, and EB-3

  • Support clients through adjustment of status and permanent residence filings

  • Collaborate with internal teams and external stakeholders to mitigate risk and ensure compliance

  • Stay current on immigration policy developments, legislation, and regulatory changes

  • Lead client service initiatives, including strategic planning and risk management

  • Expand the firm’s immigration practice by leveraging existing relationships and developing new business opportunities

  • Mentor and support junior attorneys and legal staff

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in business immigration law

  • Established portfolio of corporate immigration clients

  • Demonstrated leadership capabilities in both legal practice and team development

  • Ability to manage a high-level practice with cross-industry client needs

  • Strong business acumen and commitment to client service excellence

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited U.S. law school

Certifications:

  • Active license to practice law in at least one U.S. jurisdiction (admission in NY or NJ preferred based on office location)

Skills:

  • Advanced expertise in U.S. employment-based immigration law

  • Strong drafting, research, and negotiation skills

  • Excellent written and oral communication

  • Proven leadership, client development, and team management experience

  • Entrepreneurial mindset with a focus on expanding legal service offerings
