Job Overview

A law firm seeks a Senior Counsel - Employment to join their Office of the General Counsel team in Chicago, IL. This role involves managing employment law matters across U.S. offices and providing legal advice on various employment issues. The position offers a hybrid work arrangement.

Duties

  • Conduct legal research and analysis on employment law topics across U.S. jurisdictions.
  • Draft, review, and negotiate employment-related documents.
  • Assist with U.S. employment litigation, disputes, and administrative charges.
  • Draft responses to employment-related subpoenas and personnel file requests.
  • Monitor employment legislation and provide legal advice to stakeholders.
  • Protect and maintain sensitive, confidential, and proprietary information.

Requirements

  • Broad knowledge of U.S. employment laws and regulations.
  • Ability to conduct legal research and draft detailed written work.
  • Strong client counseling skills with clear communication of legal concepts.

Education

  • Juris Doctorate from an accredited law school.

Certifications

  • Active bar membership in good standing in a U.S. jurisdiction where the firm operates.

Skills

  • Minimum of four years of employment law experience, including counseling and litigation.
  • Experience with a law firm Office of General Counsel or in-house experience preferred.
