Associate Attorney

Job Overview

A law firm seeks an Associate Attorney in Chicago, IL. The successful candidate will assist with Defense Base Act claims, providing legal analysis, drafting petitions, and communicating with clients, the Department of Labor, and opposing counsel.

Duties

• Assist with docket involving Defense Base Act claims.
• Review, analyze, and summarize claims documents, including medical records and incident reports.
• Conduct legal analysis to determine recovery likelihood and necessary documentation.
• Participate in Department of Labor conferences to resolve file issues.
• Communicate clearly with clients on Defense Base Act and War Hazards Compensation Act issues.
• Manage and prioritize legal assignments to ensure task completion.
• Contact and communicate with opposing counsel to resolve claims.

Education

• Juris Doctor degree.
