Employment / Insurance Defense Attorney

A law firm in Chicago, IL, seeks an experienced Employment/Insurance Defense Attorney to join its dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have 3+ years of experience defending against EPLI discrimination and wage/hour claims and handling various tort liability cases, including premises, construction, and transportation. Duties:

• Defend clients in Employment Practices Liability Insurance (EPLI) cases involving discrimination and wage/hour claims.
• Handle tort liability cases, including premises liability, construction accidents, and transportation-related incidents.
• Conduct legal research, draft pleadings, motions, and discovery documents.
• Prepare for and attend hearings, mediations, arbitrations, and trials as necessary.
• Provide legal counsel and guidance to clients on employment and insurance defense matters.
• Collaborate with senior attorneys, paralegals, and support staff to achieve case objectives.

Requirements:

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.
• Active membership in good standing with the Illinois State Bar.
• A minimum of 3 years of experience defending EPLI discrimination, wage/hour claims, and tort liability cases.
• Proven track record of achieving favorable outcomes for clients.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
• Ability to manage a high-volume caseload effectively.
• Commitment to achieving 2000 billable hours annually.
