Job Overview

A law firm seeks a mid-level project finance attorney with expertise in debt and tax equity to join their team in Los Angeles, California. The successful candidate will represent clients in the renewable energy sector, handling transactions related to the development, acquisition, and financing of projects.

Duties

  • Represent sponsors and financing parties in renewable energy project transactions.
  • Draft and negotiate debt term sheets, loan agreements, and security documents.
  • Draft and negotiate equity capital contribution agreements and partnership agreements.
  • Manage junior associates and oversee transaction processes.
  • Communicate directly with clients and third-party advisors.

Requirements

  • 3-5 years of experience in the energy industry at a large law firm or comparable in-house counsel role.
  • Strong oral communication, writing, research, and analytical skills.
  • Ability to manage projects and work effectively as part of a team.
  • Admission to and good standing with the state bar in which they reside.

Education

  • Strong academic credentials from a top-tier law school.

Certifications

  • State bar admission in good standing.

Skills

  • Experience with project finance in the energy industry, focusing on debt and tax equity.
  • Familiarity with project development and operation contracts.
