Job Overview

A nationally respected law firm is seeking a Trademark Associate with at least 3 years of experience in trademark clearance and prosecution. The ideal candidate will be fluent in both English and Spanish, with demonstrated expertise managing complex domestic and international trademark portfolios. This is a unique opportunity to work on sophisticated IP matters for name-brand clients in a collaborative and growth-oriented environment.

Location

  • Washington, DC

Key Responsibilities

  • Handle U.S. and international trademark clearance and prosecution

  • Provide legal counsel on brand protection and strategy

  • Draft and file applications, office action responses, and other trademark-related documents

  • Collaborate with clients and internal teams across multiple jurisdictions

  • Manage high-volume dockets with attention to deadlines and quality

  • Advise entertainment clients on IP matters (preferred)

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum of 3 years of direct experience in trademark law

  • Fluent in both written and spoken English and Spanish

  • Experience with global trademark portfolio management

  • Strong attention to detail, critical thinking, and organizational skills

  • Ability to independently manage projects and client expectations

Education

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited U.S. law school

Licensing Requirements

  • Licensed to practice in at least one U.S. jurisdiction

  • Member in good standing with applicable bar

Desired Skills

  • Deep knowledge of U.S. and international trademark systems

  • High-level legal writing and research capabilities

  • Client-focused communication and bilingual negotiation skills

  • Experience advising entertainment/media companies (a plus)

  • Strong docket and deadline management
