Fund Formation and Investment Management Associate

Job Overview

A law firm seeks a Jr-Mid Level Fund Formation and Investment Management Associate to join their team in Boston, MA. The firm is open to considering candidates in Chicago, Dallas, or New York, with other locations possible based on business needs and experience.

Duties

• Assist in fund and management structuring.
• Negotiate with institutional investors, including government pension plans and endowments.
• Handle secondary sales of LP fund stakes on both buy- and sell-side.
• Participate in GP-led fund restructurings.
• Draft legal documents and collaborate with partners and clients.

Requirements

• 2-5 years of fund formation and investment management experience.
• Working knowledge of the Investment Advisers Act registration and compliance.
• Familiarity with the Securities Act as it relates to private investment funds.
• Strong interpersonal skills and a proactive attitude.

Education

• JD from an ABA-accredited law school.

Certifications

• Active member in good standing of the Bar in the jurisdiction(s) where admitted.
