Job Overview

A law firm seeks an Associate Attorney in Chicago, IL. This role offers the chance to join a dynamic team, gain in-court experience, and master real property title law. The position involves working with business entities and handling regulatory compliance, primarily focusing on foreclosure and real property title matters. The Associate Attorney will report to the Managing Partner and collaborate with a supportive team. Candidates with 2 to 5 years of residential foreclosure experience are preferred. Remote work may be considered based on reliability.

Duties

  • Communicate with court personnel, clients, and opposing parties.
  • Draft and review pleadings, notices, and motions.
  • Appear in court both remotely and in-person as required.
  • Review title tract searches and resolve title issues post-foreclosure.
  • Collaborate with staff, title companies, and opposing counsel.
  • Conduct legal research.
  • Encouraged to write articles for publication.

Requirements

  • Admitted to practice law in Illinois.
  • Positive attitude and adaptability.
  • Ability to prepare for and attend court hearings.
  • Strong communication and organizational skills.
  • Proficient in document review.
  • Willingness to learn real property title and regulatory rules.
  • Creative problem-solving skills for title curative techniques.
  • Ability to interact positively with opposing counsel and defendants.
  • Motivated self-starter with multitasking ability.
  • Team player willing to assist as needed.

Education

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree.

Certifications

  • Licensed to practice law in Illinois.
