Job Overview

A law firm seeks an associate with two to five years of experience to join their Technology Transactions team in Washington, DC. This position offers the opportunity to collaborate with seasoned advisors, assisting both established and innovative companies in developing their IP strategies and facilitating essential agreements.

Duties

  • Draft, review, and negotiate collaboration, partnering, licensing, and other commercial agreements for companies at various stages of their life cycle.
  • Provide expert guidance to technology companies on product strategy, development, and market positioning.
  • Assist in navigating IP and technology aspects of complex M&A transactions and venture capital financings.
  • Conduct research and analysis on diverse technologies, including AI, fintech, autonomous vehicles, edtech, renewable energy, AR/VR, cybersecurity, biotechnology, and digital health.

Requirements

  • At least two years of legal experience in IP and technology transactions.
  • Strong interest in technology transactions for M&A matters and emerging company/venture capital clients.
  • Excellent research, analytical, drafting, and communication skills.
  • Commitment to excellence and ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.

Education

  • JD is required.

Certifications

  • Admission to the state bar of the office in which the candidate would be located.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

  • Proficiency in legal research and writing.
