Job Overview

A law firm seeks a Legal Training and Development Attorney to support its Litigation and Intellectual Property practice groups, with the position based in Menlo Park or another U.S. office. This role focuses on designing and delivering training programs, enhancing attorney development, and aligning learning initiatives with strategic business objectives. The position follows a hybrid work model.

Duties

  • Collaborate with partners and leadership to develop and implement training strategies for practice groups.
  • Design and execute training programs tailored to business unit needs.
  • Lead training council meetings and coordinate ongoing initiatives.
  • Assess training needs and create targeted development programs with internal stakeholders.
  • Track associate training progress and align development with performance benchmarks.
  • Integrate legal technology, including AI tools, into training curricula.
  • Maintain and update training materials on internal learning platforms.
  • Work with cross-functional teams to identify firmwide training opportunities.
  • Conduct regular evaluations of training programs and refine them as needed.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 7 years of legal experience with strong subject matter expertise.
  • Experience in training, mentoring, or professional development preferred.
  • Strong project management and presentation skills.
  • Familiarity with legal technology and innovation tools.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with partners and cross-functional teams.

Education

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.

Certifications

Salaries are in line with other top Bay Area firms, and the firm provides a sizable bonus for all lawyers who bill at least 1,950 hours, with additional money based on three separate billable-hour levels above 1,950.
