Job Overview

A law firm seeks an experienced Construction and Real Estate Attorney to join its Real Estate Practice Group in Columbus, OH. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in construction law and a proven ability to handle complex legal matters.

Duties

  • Draft, review, and negotiate complex construction and construction-related contracts.
  • Advise clients on risk mitigation strategies throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Collaborate with team members to deliver comprehensive legal solutions.

Requirements

  • 5-10 years of construction law experience within a Real Estate Practice Group.
  • Familiarity with professional services agreements and industry-standard contract forms.
  • Strong academic record with excellent research and writing skills.

Education

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.

Certifications

  • Licensed to practice law in Ohio.

  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.

This large full-service firm has offices throughout Ohio and other states along the Eastern seaboard. Associates can expect ongoing training at the departmental level and a strong, viable mentoring program, along with quick responsibilities and client contact. It is not unusual for first- and second-year litigators to take and defend depositions. The firm culture is very collegial and informal, and associates seem more cooperative than competitive. Compensation is competitive with that of other major firms in comparable metropolitan areas. In addition, associates are eligible to participate in the firm's profit-sharing plan after they complete two years of eligibility service with the firm.
