Job Overview

A law firm seeks a highly skilled Senior Litigation Attorney with 8+ years of experience to join its Litigation Practice Group in San Diego, CA. This role is ideal for an attorney with substantial experience in complex commercial litigation, particularly involving financial institutions, commercial real estate, and loan servicing disputes. Candidates barred in and residing in a state where the firm operates may be considered for remote work.

Duties

  • Lead and manage litigation teams in complex commercial matters in federal and state courts nationwide.
  • Represent financial institutions in workouts, forbearances, and foreclosures.
  • Handle litigation related to commercial mortgage-backed securities (CMBS).
  • Manage contested bankruptcy matters and mezzanine loan enforcement.
  • Defend financial institutions in lender liability actions.
  • Represent clients in arbitration proceedings and title insurance claims.
  • Handle commercial lease litigation for landlords and tenants.

Requirements

  • J.D. from an accredited law school.
  • Active bar admission in the state of the office location or ability to obtain promptly.
  • Minimum 8+ years of complex commercial litigation experience.
  • Significant experience representing financial institutions or lenders.
  • Strong background in commercial real estate litigation and secured creditor remedies.
  • Experience managing cases independently and leading litigation teams.
  • Excellent written and oral advocacy skills.

Education

  • J.D. from an accredited law school.

Certifications

  • Active bar admission in the state of the office location.

Skills

  • Strong analytical and strategic thinking skills.
  • Excellent client management skills.
  • Experience in CMBS and loan servicing litigation preferred.
  • Arbitration and title insurance litigation experience preferred.
