Job Overview

A law firm seeks a highly motivated midlevel associate with a solid background in real estate finance and lender representation in Stamford, CT. The ideal candidate will have approximately three to five years of experience in commercial real estate lending transactions, with a strong foundation in drafting, document review, and due diligence. This position offers an opportunity to take on meaningful responsibility in a collaborative and fast-paced environment, working alongside experienced partners and senior attorneys on a diverse range of real estate finance matters.

Duties

  • Draft loan documents.
  • Conduct and manage due diligence reviews.
  • Review opinion letters and other third-party documents.
  • Lead the preparation of closing checklists and coordinate closing logistics.
  • Communicate directly with clients and other parties involved in transactions.
  • Manage multiple workstreams within a given deal.

Requirements

  • Three to five years of substantive experience in real estate finance, preferably at a major law firm or institutional lender.
  • Strong analytical and drafting skills, meticulous attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple assignments under time-sensitive deadlines.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • A self-starter comfortable taking ownership of significant portions of a transaction while working within a team-oriented structure.

Education

  • J.D. from an accredited law school.

Certifications

  • Bar admission in the attorney's resident and/or affiliated office.

Skills

  • Familiarity with lender-side representation preferred.
