Job Overview

A law firm seeks a Litigation Associate Attorney in Tacoma, Washington. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of two years of litigation experience, with a preference for construction-related experience. Duties

  • Support a busy litigation team in managing matters from investigation through resolution or trial.
  • Draft pleadings, handle discovery, take and defend depositions, and argue motions.
  • Analyze contracts, including indemnity and insurance provisions; construction law experience is a plus.
  • Represent clients in mediation, arbitration, and trial settings.
  • Contribute to case strategy, client communication, and risk assessment.

Requirements

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school.
  • Active member in good standing with the Washington State Bar.
  • 2+ years of litigation experience.
  • Strong legal writing, research, and oral advocacy skills.
  • Excellent judgment, communication, and case management abilities.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Familiarity with construction statutes such as RCW Chapter 64.50 and related Washington laws.
  • Construction-related litigation preferred, but not required.
  • Ability to manage multiple high-level cases with limited supervision.
  • Background in advising clients on risk mitigation, claims handling, or insurance strategy.

Education

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school.

Certifications

  • Active member in good standing with the Washington State Bar.
