Job Overview:
A respected law firm based in Providence, RI is actively seeking a mid to senior-level associate attorney to join its expanding Transactional Practice Group. This opportunity is ideal for a legal professional with a solid background in commercial real estate, looking to play a significant role in handling complex transactions involving developers, investors, and lenders. The role involves a balance of independent case management and collaboration with a seasoned legal team.

Duties:

  • Oversee and manage commercial real estate transactions, including acquisitions, sales, leasing, and financing

  • Draft and negotiate a wide range of transactional documents

  • Advise clients on legal risks and compliance issues related to real estate projects

  • Coordinate due diligence processes and resolve title and survey matters

  • Work with lenders, developers, and investors on structuring deals

  • Collaborate with internal teams across practice areas as needed

  • Maintain strong client relationships through proactive communication and service

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 5 years of legal experience focused on commercial real estate transactions

  • Demonstrated ability to independently manage multiple aspects of real estate deals

  • Strong drafting, negotiation, and analytical skills

  • Familiarity with both the Rhode Island and Massachusetts real estate markets is advantageous

  • Active admission to the Rhode Island and/or Massachusetts Bar

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school

Certifications:

  • Admission to the Rhode Island Bar is required

  • Admission to the Massachusetts Bar preferred (or willingness to obtain)

Skills:

  • Proficient in commercial real estate law and transaction structuring

  • Strong communication and client service abilities

  • Detail-oriented with excellent organizational skills

  • Comfortable working both autonomously and within a collaborative team setting

  • Capable of handling fast-paced work environments and tight timelines
