A law firm in Chicago, IL, seeks an experienced and dedicated Workers' Compensation Defense Partner to join their esteemed legal team. The ideal candidate will possess over 6 years of experience in workers' compensation with a focus on personal injury defense. This role requires leadership capabilities, robust litigation skills, and the ability to meet high billable hour requirements.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage a caseload of workers' compensation defense cases, ensuring effective and efficient resolution.
  • Provide expert legal advice and representation to clients in workers' compensation matters.
  • Conduct in-depth legal research and draft high-quality legal documents, including pleadings, motions, and briefs.
  • Represent clients at hearings, depositions, and trials, advocating effectively.
  • Develop and maintain strong client relationships, acting as a trusted advisor.
  • Mentor and guide junior attorneys and legal staff, fostering a collaborative and supportive work environment.
  • Collaborate with other practice areas within the firm to provide comprehensive legal services.

Requirements:

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Active membership in the Illinois State Bar.
  • Admission to the Indiana State Bar is a plus.
  • Minimum of 6 years of experience in workers' compensation and personal injury defense.
  • Proven track record of successfully managing and resolving complex legal cases.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Certifications and Skills:

  • Certification in Workers' Compensation Law is preferred but not required.
  • Ability to meet billable hour requirements (2100 billable hours annually).
  • Proficiency in legal research, case management software, and Microsoft Office Suite.
