Job Overview

A law firm seeks a Litigation Associate in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, with 3-5 years of experience. The ideal candidate will have a background in commercial litigation, bankruptcy, and consumer financial services litigation. They should demonstrate experience in executing legal strategies, taking depositions, and participating in trials, arbitrations, and hearings.

Duties

  • Conduct legal research and analysis to support litigation matters.
  • Draft pleadings, motions, briefs, and other legal documents with attention to detail.
  • Prepare discovery requests and responses.
  • Represent clients in court appearances, depositions, mediations, and arbitrations.
  • Manage and prioritize a diverse caseload.
  • Work closely with partners on complex litigation matters.
  • Communicate effectively with clients, opposing counsel, judges, mediators, arbitrators, and other parties involved in the litigation process.
  • Participate in strategy discussions and case planning.

Requirements

  • Juris Doctorate degree from an accredited law school with an excellent academic record.
  • Admission to the Louisiana state bar.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience.
  • Experience in commercial litigation, bankruptcy, or consumer litigation preferred.
  • Ability to interface directly with attorneys and clients.
  • Demonstrate an ability to work independently and productively.

Education

  • Juris Doctorate degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications

  • Admission to the Louisiana state bar.
