Job Overview
A law firm seeks an Insurance and Bad Faith Recovery Attorney for a fully remote position, with a preference for candidates based in California. This role involves advocating for clients wrongfully denied insurance coverage or treated unfairly by insurers.

Duties

  • Manage insurance bad faith and coverage dispute cases from inception to resolution.
  • Handle all aspects of litigation, including pleadings, discovery, depositions, and trial preparation.
  • Conduct legal research and draft complex motions, including dispositive motions and motions to compel.
  • Take and defend depositions of key witnesses, including insurance representatives.
  • Advocate for clients in negotiations, mediations, arbitrations, and court proceedings.
  • Analyze insurance policies and coverage issues to develop case strategies.

Requirements

  • Juris Doctor degree from an ABA-accredited law school.
  • Active license to practice law in California.
  • 7+ years of litigation experience, preferably in insurance bad faith, coverage disputes, or general insurance litigation.
  • Strong motion-writing and legal research skills.
  • Experience taking and defending depositions.
  • Background in insurance litigation at a defense firm is a plus.
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating with the legal team.
  • Willingness to travel as needed for depositions, court appearances, and case work.

Education

  • Juris Doctor degree from an ABA-accredited law school.

Certifications

  • Active license to practice law in California.

Skills

  • Experience taking and defending depositions.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
