Job Overview

A law firm seeks a motivated Associate Attorney specializing in PIP Litigation to join their team in Belmar, NJ. This role offers the opportunity to gain comprehensive experience in personal injury practice, including arbitration appearances, court proceedings, and case settlements.

Duties

  • Draft legal documents such as prehearing submissions, fee certifications, motions, and affidavits.
  • Prepare and procure exhibits for hearings.
  • Research and analyze statutes, regulations, and judicial decisions; provide written analysis.
  • Attend hearings and assist in discovery processes.
  • Organize and maintain case files and legal documents.
  • Settle cases and meet with attorneys, clients, and other professionals.
  • Monitor compliance with procedural requirements and deadlines.
  • Collaborate with the PIP team to deliver exceptional client service.

Requirements

  • Experience as a PIP associate, preferably from the Claimant side.
  • Knowledge of Forthright Rules and NJ No-Fault statutes.
  • Ability to analyze medical bills for NJ Fee Schedules compliance.
  • Experience preparing Rule 16 summaries and prehearing submissions.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
  • Interest in becoming a trial lawyer.

Education

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree required.

Certifications

  • Admission to the New Jersey State Bar.

Skills

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Proficient in Lexis.
  • Experience with Case Management Software is a plus.
