Job Overview:
A distinguished national law firm is seeking a Bankruptcy Litigation Associate to join its Wilmington, Delaware office. This position offers the opportunity to work on complex restructuring matters and high-profile Chapter 11 cases, creditor/debtor disputes, and related litigation. Ideal for attorneys with 3–5 years of focused experience, this role supports professional growth within a collaborative and sophisticated legal team.

Location:

  • Wilmington, Delaware

Duties:

  • Represent clients in Chapter 11 bankruptcy and restructuring litigation

  • Handle litigation matters involving creditors’ rights and debtor-creditor disputes

  • Engage in all phases of bankruptcy proceedings, including pleadings, motions, discovery, and trial preparation

  • Work on distressed asset acquisitions and out-of-court restructuring transactions

  • Conduct legal research and draft memoranda, briefs, and related filings

  • Participate in strategy development and client meetings

  • Support municipal insolvency (Chapter 9) representations, as applicable

  • Collaborate closely with a national team of bankruptcy professionals

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 3–5 years of relevant legal experience in bankruptcy and restructuring litigation

  • Experience representing clients in Chapter 11 cases or creditors’ rights litigation

  • Strong writing, organizational, and analytical skills

  • Exceptional attention to detail and professional judgment

  • Ability to manage multiple assignments and meet deadlines

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school with strong academic credentials

Certifications:

  • Active license to practice law in the State of Delaware (required)

Skills:

  • Excellent legal research and brief-writing capabilities

  • Deep understanding of the Bankruptcy Code and Delaware bankruptcy practice

  • Strong oral advocacy and communication skills

  • Client-focused with the ability to manage complex litigation and restructuring matters

  • Collaborative mindset with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment
