Mid-Level Litigation Associate

Job Overview

A law firm seeks a mid-level litigation associate with three to six years of experience to join its team in Seattle, WA. The successful candidate will engage in complex litigation matters across various industries, including energy, healthcare, and financial services.

Duties

• Draft, research, and argue motions, including motions to dismiss and summary judgment.
• Take and defend fact and expert depositions; prepare witnesses for testimony.
• Lead discovery efforts, including ESI strategy and negotiations.
• Prepare pleadings, briefs, and written discovery; develop case strategy.
• Appear at hearings, conferences, mediations, and arbitrations.
• Oversee case calendars, budgets, and supervise junior associates and paralegals.
• Coordinate with subject-matter teams and interface with clients and opposing counsel.

Requirements

• JD from an accredited law school; admitted and in good standing with the Washington bar.
• 3-6 years of general/commercial litigation experience at a major law firm.
• Significant experience with motion practice, depositions, and complex discovery.
• Strong command of the Federal Rules of Civil Procedure and Evidence.
• Exceptional writing, oral advocacy, and analytical skills.
• Proficiency with e-discovery platforms and litigation technology.

Education

• Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.

Certifications

• Admitted to the Washington State Bar.
