Job Overview

A law firm seeks a patent agent for its life sciences patent practice in Mountain View, CA. The ideal candidate will have 2-3 years of experience and a Ph.D. or M.D. with research experience in fields such as Cellular & Molecular Biology, Immunology, Genetics, Biochemistry, or Bioengineering.

Duties

  • Conduct prior art database searches for patentability and freedom to operate analyses.
  • Analyze patents and scientific papers to assist in patent prosecution, counseling, and litigation.
  • Draft patent applications and responses to office actions.
  • Participate in post-grant procedures at the USPTO.

Requirements

  • Registered USPTO patent agent or eligible to sit for the USPTO registration exam.
