Job Overview

A law firm seeks a Medical Malpractice Litigation Associate Attorney to join their team in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. The successful candidate will collaborate with experienced attorneys, providing essential support throughout the litigation process.

Duties

  • Prepare legal documents including pleadings, motions, and affidavits.
  • E-file court documents in state and federal courts.
  • Communicate with clients, courts, and counsel.
  • Conduct legal research and factual investigations.
  • Prepare discovery documents and responses.
  • Coordinate and summarize depositions.
  • Organize trial binders and exhibits.
  • Draft and file pleadings, motions, and appellate documents.
  • Perform administrative duties such as calendaring hearings and managing case files.
  • Maintain pleadings and discovery indexes.
  • Organize exhibits, documents, and evidence.
  • Assist with interrogatories and other discovery requests.
  • Gather relevant information from various sources.
  • Liaise between trial teams and third parties.
  • Prepare witnesses for trial.
  • Assist with case settlements.

Requirements

  • Associate and Juris Doctorate degree, certificate, or equivalent work experience preferred.
  • 1+ years of litigation experience preferred.
  • Experience in Medical Malpractice, Personal Injury, Workers Compensation, or related areas preferred.
  • Ability to multi-task and manage workload with minimal supervision.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficient in calendaring depositions, mediations, and hearings.
  • Knowledge of motions, discovery, evidence, and court procedures.
  • Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple deadlines.
  • Experience with Medical Malpractice Plaintiff Actions is a plus.
  • Federal Judicial Clerkship is a plus.

Education

  • Juris Doctorate degree preferred.

Certifications

  • Relevant legal certifications preferred.
