Job Overview

A highly respected and client-focused family law firm in Phoenix, Arizona is seeking a Family Law Attorney with at least two years of experience. The ideal candidate is passionate about helping clients through emotionally complex matters such as divorce, custody, and support issues, and will also have an interest or experience in probate, Department of Child Safety (DCS), guardianships, or protective orders. This role offers a mix of autonomy and collaboration, along with the opportunity to make a meaningful impact within a team-oriented and service-driven environment.

Location

  • Phoenix, Arizona

Duties

  • Represent clients in family law matters including divorce, child custody, child and spousal support, and adoption (child and adult)

  • Manage all phases of client intake, case strategy, and litigation

  • Attend hearings, mediations, arbitrations, and trials (both virtual and in-person)

  • Handle legal research and prepare for court proceedings

  • Draft pleadings, motions, legal correspondence, and settlement agreements

  • Communicate extensively with clients, courts, and opposing counsel

  • Collaborate with team members and contribute to client-centered service goals

  • Support expansion into related practice areas such as DCS, guardianships/conservatorships, and protective orders

Requirements

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience handling family law cases

  • Experience or interest in probate, DCS, guardianship/conservatorship, or protective order cases preferred

  • Strong courtroom presence and litigation experience

  • Proficient in legal research, drafting, and client communication

  • Able to manage multiple cases and meet deadlines in a high-touch legal practice

  • Willingness to participate in client intake when needed

Education

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school

Certifications

  • Active license to practice law in the State of Arizona and in good standing

Skills

  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills

  • Strong legal research and analysis capabilities

  • Detail-oriented with excellent judgment and strategic thinking

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite; experience with CLIO is a plus

  • High emotional intelligence and strong client relationship management

  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a supportive environment
