Workers' Compensation Attorney

Job Overview

A law firm seeks a Louisiana-licensed Workers' Compensation Attorney in New Orleans, LA. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of five years' experience in conducting investigations, taking and defending depositions, with motion practice and trial experience being advantageous. The firm is open to training insurance defense attorneys new to workers' compensation.

Duties

• Draft initial, interim, pre-trial, trial, and appellate reports.
• Draft and respond to discovery and related motions.
• Regularly attend court appearances.
• Take and defend depositions of fact and expert witnesses.
• Draft Motions for Summary Judgment and other motions.

Requirements

• Admitted to practice in Louisiana; Mississippi licensure is a plus.
• Analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent research, written, and oral communication skills.
• Five years or more of litigation experience.

Education

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree.

Certifications

• Licensed to practice law in Louisiana.
