This position offers the opportunity to engage in patent prosecution work focused on biotechnology, supporting clients within a fast-evolving and innovative sector.

Duties:

  • Manage patent prosecution matters in the biotechnology and life sciences space
  • Collaborate with clients to develop and protect intellectual property portfolios
  • Prepare and file patent applications
  • Conduct patentability and freedom-to-operate analyses
  • Engage in patent office proceedings and respond to office actions
  • Provide strategic advice to clients regarding intellectual property matters
  • Assist with IP litigation and other intellectual property-related services as needed

Requirements:

  • 1-5 years of experience in patent prosecution, with a focus on life sciences or biotechnology
  • Experience handling intellectual property matters in biotechnology, pharmaceuticals, or related fields
  • Proven ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team
  • Strong communication and organizational skills

Education:

  • Advanced degree in life sciences, ideally a Ph.D., required
  • JD from an accredited law school

Certifications:

  • Patent Bar membership (USPTO Registration Number) is required
  • Must be willing to take and pass the patent Bar exam within 12 months of employment, if not already registered
