Duties

  • Represent creditors in federal bankruptcy court proceedings
  • Draft motions for relief from the automatic stay and other bankruptcy-related pleadings
  • Prepare and defend secured creditor proofs of claim
  • Defend motions to value and protect creditor interests throughout the bankruptcy process
  • Maintain accurate case records and update internal systems with key dates, communications, and case milestones
  • Manage a substantial caseload while ensuring deadlines and court requirements are met
  • Supervise and guide support staff involved in case management
  • Communicate with clients regarding case strategy and developments
  • Collaborate with attorneys and staff to ensure efficient case handling

Requirements

  • Significant experience in bankruptcy, civil litigation, real estate litigation, or related creditor rights matters
  • Experience representing financial institutions or loan servicers preferred
  • Knowledge of consumer credit laws, such as TILA, RESPA, and FDCPA, preferred
  • Ability to manage complex matters independently and handle a high-volume caseload
  • Strong leadership skills and the ability to oversee support staff
  • Ability to maintain accuracy and efficiency in a fast-paced legal environment

Education and Certifications

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school
  • Active membership in the California State Bar
  • Additional bar admissions are considered beneficial
