Job Overview

A law firm seeks an Associate Attorney for its Dallas, TX office. The ideal candidate will have 1-2 years of civil litigation experience, with a preference for exposure to construction law and/or insurance defense matters. This role offers the chance to collaborate with seasoned attorneys and legal staff while managing a diverse litigation docket in a dynamic environment.

Duties

  • Manage a caseload of civil litigation matters from inception through resolution.
  • Draft motions, pleadings, memoranda, briefs, and other legal documents.
  • Conduct legal research and analyze statutes, case law, and legal authorities.
  • Handle all phases of discovery, including drafting and responding to written discovery, electronic document production, and taking and defending depositions.
  • Prepare for and attend hearings, mediations, trials, and court appearances.
  • Develop litigation strategy and case management plans.
  • Communicate effectively with clients, opposing counsel, courts, and team members.
  • Provide regular case status updates to clients and supervising attorneys.

Requirements

  • J.D. from an accredited law school.
  • Licensed and in good standing to practice law in Texas.
  • 1-2 years of litigation experience required.
  • Experience in civil litigation, construction law, insurance defense, and/or personal injury litigation preferred.
  • Strong legal research, writing, and analytical skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
  • Ability to independently manage a high-volume caseload in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.

Education

  • J.D. from an accredited law school.

  • Licensed to practice law in Texas.
