Job Overview

A law firm seeks a highly motivated Privacy and Cybersecurity Attorney to join its team in Portland. This role requires over six years of experience in advising clients on information privacy laws, online advertising, and incident response planning. The successful candidate will work collaboratively while maintaining significant independence.

Duties

  • Advise clients on obligations under information privacy laws.
  • Provide guidance on e-mail marketing and online advertising.
  • Prepare privacy policies for websites and mobile applications.
  • Negotiate contractual provisions related to personal data and trade secrets.
  • Advise on privacy and security in M&A transactions.
  • Consult on the use of cookies and analytics technologies.
  • Develop incident response plans.

Requirements

  • Juris Doctorate (JD) from an ABA-accredited law school.
  • Admission or eligibility for reciprocity to the Oregon, Washington, or California State Bar.
  • US and international privacy certifications.
  • Some portable book of business and success in client portfolio development.
