Job Overview

A law firm seeks a highly motivated Cybersecurity and Incident Response Associate to join their team in Portland, OR. The successful candidate will support clients across various sectors, including technology, finance, life sciences, and energy.

Duties

  • Help clients prepare for and mitigate security incident risks.
  • Advise on cybersecurity laws and regulations.
  • Support security aspects of corporate transactions.
  • Guide forensic investigations and manage regulatory risks.
  • Develop communication strategies to mitigate legal risks.
  • Assist with cybersecurity readiness and governance.

Requirements

  • Two to four years of cybersecurity/privacy experience, preferably with incident response.
  • Strong academic credentials.
  • Excellent legal research, writing, and analytical skills.
  • Effective written and verbal communication abilities.
  • Sound judgment and attention to detail under time pressure.
  • Team-oriented mindset with collaborative skills.
  • Membership in the State Bar of the office location or ability to become admitted promptly.

Education

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree.

  • State Bar membership.
