Job Overview

A law firm seeks an Associate Litigation Attorney to join its Houston, Texas office. The ideal candidate will have 4-5 years of experience in civil litigation, particularly in general liability and toxic torts, and will demonstrate exceptional research, writing, and litigation skills.

Duties

  • Manage cases proactively from start to finish in state and federal courts.
  • Draft pleadings, written discovery, motions, and conduct related research.
  • Communicate frequently with clients and provide detailed reporting.
  • Conduct comprehensive legal analysis, case evaluations, and strategy recommendations.
  • Coordinate and collaborate with expert witnesses.
  • Attend depositions, court hearings, and mediations.
  • Prepare for and attend trials.

Requirements

  • J.D. degree from an accredited law school.
  • Licensed to practice in Texas; additional state licenses are a plus.
  • 4-5 years of litigation and toxic tort experience in state and federal courts.
  • Ability to manage caseload proactively from start to finish.
  • Strong work ethic and ability to work independently and in a team.
  • Excellent research, written, and oral communication skills.
  • Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
  • Commitment to exceptional client service and client development.

Education

  • J.D. degree from an accredited law school.
