Job Overview

A law firm seeks a Partner to join its Employment Law Section in Richmond, VA. This role involves a dynamic mix of litigation, consulting, and transactional work, providing legal services to clients on employment-related matters. The position offers the opportunity to engage in both regional and national cases.

Duties

  • Represent clients in employment-related matters, including counseling, litigation, mediation, and arbitration.
  • Conduct legal research and draft pleadings, motions, briefs, and other legal documents.
  • Provide counsel on employment law issues such as discrimination, harassment, and wage compliance.
  • Manage litigation matters from start to finish.
  • Participate in client meetings, court appearances, and negotiations.

Requirements

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Admission to the Virginia State Bar (or eligibility for admission).
  • 7 years of experience in employment law preferred.
  • Experience in federal and state court litigation.
  • Excellent writing, research, and analytical skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple cases, associates, and deadlines effectively.
  • Ability to work from the Norfolk, Tysons, or Richmond office.
  • At least a partial portable book of business is preferred.

Education

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications

  • Admission to the Virginia State Bar (or eligibility for admission).
