A law firm seeks a Construction and Design Professionals Litigation Attorney in Basking Ridge, NJ. This role involves working within a dynamic team on complex civil matters, focusing on construction and design professionals litigation. The successful candidate will engage in all phases of litigation, from inception to trial, in a supportive and collaborative environment.

Duties

• Assist partners with active litigation caseloads.
• Interface with clients and insurance professionals.
• Prepare witnesses for deposition and trial.
• Retain and collaborate with expert witnesses.
• Prepare and respond to discovery and pleadings.
• Research legal issues and draft memoranda.
• Draft and argue motions and oppositions.
• Negotiate settlements and participate in mediation.
• Evaluate liability and damages issues.
• Support trial preparation and execution.
• Maintain accurate and timely time records.

Requirements

• 3+ years of experience in design professional and/or construction litigation.
• Juris Doctor from an accredited law school.
• Admission to practice in New York.
• Experience with written discovery and motion practice.
• Ability to work independently and efficiently.
• Superior research and writing skills.
• Ability to multi-task and analyze complex matters.

Education

• Juris Doctor from an accredited law school.
