Job Overview

A law firm seeks a Litigation Associate Attorney for their Insurance Defense practice in New Brunswick, NJ. This role offers hands-on litigation experience with a focus on automobile insurance defense and general liability matters. Duties

  • Manage a caseload focused on automobile insurance defense matters.
  • Handle general liability cases, including premises liability and homeowners' claims.
  • Work on UM/UIM matters, insurance coverage issues, and appellate assignments.
  • Draft pleadings, motions, discovery, and legal correspondence.
  • Conduct depositions, court appearances, and mediations.
  • Represent clients in hearings, arbitrations, and trial proceedings.
  • Maintain proactive communication with clients and insurance carriers.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to ensure efficient case strategy and execution.

Requirements

  • Admission to the New Jersey Bar (required); New York and/or Pennsylvania admission is a plus.
  • 2-6 years of litigation experience preferred, ideally in insurance defense.
  • Strong legal writing, analytical, and communication skills.
  • Experience handling depositions and court appearances preferred.
  • Ability to manage a caseload independently in a fast-paced environment.
  • Commitment to professionalism, client service, and high-quality work.

Education

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications

  • Admission to the New Jersey Bar.
